Default Dyno Numbers, new problem.

Well just when I get one problem fixed I get another, When to Bryans today to swap injectors and get the tune on the money. The injectors fix the going lean problem I had on the top, great. Now we are making a few pulls to get the tune dialed in and we are hearing a valvetrain noise. Keep playing with it and it stops making power around 5200, just stops pulling. Well now the problem is the Harland Sharp rockers, they are screaming and the preload is right. I have seen 1.8 rockers hurt a SBC before, I think its the problem here now. I think the truck can use some more cam also, Bryan thinks we can get close to 400hp with these heads. So the rockers are going on the shelf and I am going to get a bigger cam 224 range, Going to call Furtal in the morning to see what he says.

The numbers where 350hp and 355tq, its leaving around 40-50 on the table. Time to make some changes

Ditch the Harlands they are known for being noisy possibly setting off the knowck sensor(s). Go with a 228 range cam SCIV did the TR224 on a stock stall and wishes he would have went bigger font be a puss go big

We shut the knock sensors off at 5000 and its still there, the problem is mechanical, not the sensors.

I am going to talk to Allan Futral to see what he says.

Back when I was going to go with a H&C 6L I was going to go with a 228/232 with a 3K stall in my heavy *** truck. I rode in White1's truck and he has like a 223/225 112lsa cam and it runs pretty damn good and you could get away with even more IMO.

Stick with it and you get it sorted out, you'll think you were crazy for considering trading it in.

Isi it possible to just put the factory rockers back on and re test? I agree that a larger cam will make more rwhp, I also understand some of the aftermarket rocker assemblies don't work out. How much hp are the rockers worth?

My friend was having a similar problem in his LS6. Hit a brick wall in the powerband at 5900 or so. When he wanted to rev it to 7K. He was using Jesel SS shafts at the time. He put his stock rockers back on and he had no more problems. Throw the stockers back on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have some experience here.

on my truck i ran na with a 6.0 and a decent cam, 234/232 595/590 114+1. the cam really lost some power down low. a 3000stall wouldn't have been enough to get back what was lost down low. i think a 3600-3800 would have been needed. at 4200 it was like someone hit it with a 100shot the way the power came on, it reved strong to 6800rpm.
