Default Dyno numbers

I recently had my truck on the dyno and was a little disappointed. It made 238hp and 267ft-lbs (sae numbers, dynojet dyno) with the mods listed in my sig (it's a 5.3L). What did your truck do?

That's even lower than some stock numbers I've seen.....are you sure the tune is correct ???, it may also be the knock sensors pulling too much timing.....the early model knock sensors are alot more sensitive that 2001+ models

Did you dyno on a hot day, or was there cheap gas in the tank ??, high IAT's can affect total power too, was there a fan running to blow cooler air over the truck ??

My 4.8 with similar bolt ons put down 242/252, but I had HPPIII tuning. Do you have big tires on it or stock size tires?

stock 265/75/16's, cool day (pretty damp though), I don't think We had the fan in front of it, 94 octane sunoco only in it. it's supposed to be a 93 hot tune from Wester's. I guess I'll have to check out the knock sensor data on the scan tool

My turd 5.3 with just the rev/speed limiters raised and Borla cat-back made 255/289 on a Dynojet. Might wanna hit up Westers and have him check your tune.

Contacted Lyndon today and he was pretty surprised at the numbers. I have to send my computer back for him to check out (good thing I held onto it instead of sending it back for the core )

I am just curious what scan tool you are using to check for knock retard...

I have an Actron Scanner I can get a hold of @ work, but it only reads and erases codes.
