Duramax exhaust on a non diesel truck?
#1
I was just curious to know wether or not a duramax exhaust will work on a sierra 2500hd with an 8.1? I know it will need at least some modification just wondering if it even comes close. The reason I ask is there is no aftermarket exhaust that shows much improvement for the 8.1 Everything is only 3". The truck already has that all the way to the muffler then its 2 2/14" or 23/4" duals coming off of the muffler so a 3" wont really help much.

For the most part, the stock exhaust on the 2500s flows pretty decent. Thats why you're not seeing huge improvements with an aftermarket system. I'd just get a new muffler(s) to replace the stock one and run the tailpipes how you want them.

your pm replied too.
just for the record it was no Dmax exhaust.
It was:
factory pipes brought together into a 4-inch pipe, into 4" single in-out flowmaster race muffler, then used a part of a local shops 4" diesel kit to finish it off(over the axle), then added a 5" diesel tip.
