better to go over the axle or turndowns right out of the muffler
its a single in dual out set up i got for free it has no markings on it so i couldnt tell you what brand but it has a real deep mellow tone but right now its a little loud in the cab.

go as far away from the cab as you can, it wont hurt the flow and it wont hurt you head either.

my truck is dumped right after the muffler. I have a horrible rattle in my back window and at freeway speed it humms in the cab. Ya im goin back to my muffler shop to get tail pipes. Dumps right after the muffler just get too annoying for an everyday driver. but then again I dont have a nice motor to listen too but thats another story

Dumps right at the muffler will drone. The sound will be different if you run it over the axle since the exhaust isn't resonating off the ground and bed. I have 4 inch tips on my truck to give it a little more sound and it sounds better than dumps IMO. I have cutouts under the cab and used to have straight pipes exiting behind the rear tires and the tone is completely different.

I run mine dumped after the axle. It's somewhat quieter than dumped before the axle. I like that I can hear it around town, but on the highway it can get old(I have 3.73's). It's like ssdan says, the farther back you put the exit, the quieter it will be in the cab.

another question it has the factory pip going to the muffler but it has waht appears to be 2.5 inch pipe out of the mufflers and im curious if it creates enough back pressure cus it feels like i might have lost a little power (but i still have the factory intake on it so that might also be the problem)

mine dumps before the axle and it is not bad at all. I have a "quiet" magnaflow so that may help.
