Default dumb,but easy question?

If i were to modify my intake a little and get rid of the box and use a cone filter does it matter if the MAF sensor moves a little or do i want it in the same general spot.

As long as nothing is preventing the MAF sensor from functioning as intended. Its location is irrelevent. F-Bodys and Vettes mount theirs practically on top of the Throttle Body.
