Default DRY SHOT

Hi i have a 00 silverado with many mods i wanted to put a 50 to 100 dry shot. i have the solenoids from a cheater NOS can i use those. and where can i get the nozzle and the jet for this. the correct way to do it would be to put the nozzle in front of my K&N filter right? and what would be the best method to activate it wot switch or window switch. ???

thanks for help.

You can get the nozzles and pills from any NOS dealer. MTI deals with them. Yes put the nozzle at the front of the K&N (cone filter). I would use a WOT and window switch for activation. I ran my window from 3000 to 6000.

Ok...i have a question about dry shots also. I've been running a 100 shot on a dry nitrous kit for about 5 months now...Just recently a friend of mine told me that my motor would not compensate and send more fuel when the nitrous is shot. I disagreed with him because i have the hose in front of the MAF. I thought the MAF would tell the engine to send more fuel. He said it wouldn't and that my engine was gonna go soon. What do you guys think? Again i have nothing but a hose going into my intake..that's it...nothing to do with the fuel.
Thanks

If it's in front of the MAF then it will see the nitrous as extra air flow and dump fuel.

As long as your MAF is working correctly, your fine and your friend is wrong. Just don't add anything that will lean out the fuel to much (like Power tunning from an HPP3 although a few guys have run it and been fine, but it is not recommended) and your OK.

Dry with a fanspray before the MAF will do fine. A WOT switch is a must on all nitrous systems. Window switches are ok but are to be used at your discression-depending on your application and driving habits. Any solenoid will suffice but remember the "size" of the solenoid (orafice) will change the flow characteristics and will change your jetting selection.

As far as not compensating when sprayed before the MAF...this may be the case in some vehicles but GM 98+ LS based motors all react the same. As the MAF sees lower and lower temps it adds more and more fuel. The GM fuel tables are capable of compensating more than adequately with some minor fuel pressure tuning.

Most don't run the power tuning due to the added timing and lowered WOT fueling. While carefully monitoring detonation you may be able to run the combo safely...I do.

what type of nozzle would i need there is a fogger 2 nozzle, but that one has for fuel and nos. there is one for nos only but i believe it has a 45d angle. I would need it to shoot straight so i can put it in the front part of my cone filter.
thanks for help.

You need a fan spray nozzle. There are several ways you can mount it. I have seen and done into the end of the filter. Some guys that have doen it that way will fab a shield of some sort on the inside of the filter to keep it form spraying out of the filter. Others have gone in through the side of the filter and aimed it tward the maf. But on a dry shot, you don't need a fogger nozzle, just a fan spray head.
