Default drilled hole in condensor......need help :(

I just finished installing a bigger tranny cooler and in the process accidentally drilled just a tad too far for the mounting brackets right into the condensor. Whoo whee gas was a shooting everywhere.

Anyways, is there such a thing as a patching kit or something of that like to make a quick fix on the condensor, or I am going to have to replace the entire condensor.

If I do have to replace it, does anybody know where I can get a cheap condensor, and do you have any tips for the install of it.

Thanks in advance
Todd

You could maybe try to get it brazed.

In the compressor. Since the system has been exposed to the elements. You are going to want to look at replacing the receiver/dryer and dump the oil out of the compressor and replace it. Ester and Pag is hydroscopic, it attracts moisture. But you need to make sure you get most of the oil out of the compressor and pull a nice LONG vaccum before you charge it back up.

vtodd82 - go to www.eastwood.com and punch in the search window item# 19079,this is a good product and you can weld up your hole with just a propane torch. It is some strong stuff. I have used this product, it is sold under several names, but you can use it for several repairs, a little goes a long way. Alumiweld or Alumiloy are some of the names used. You can find it at most swap meets also, lots of venders selling it. Good luck.
