Default downshifting with hpp3?

right now i have 4:10 gears with a hpp3, when i punch it from 30 it will only kick down to second and its not too impressive, but when i manually shift to 2nd and floor it, it pulls much harder, are there any shift point settings or anything else the hpp3 can do so that when i am in drive at this speed it will just automatically shift to 2nd?

something is very wrong here. you should be downshifting to 1st all the way to 34mph. Meaning that if you punch it at 34mph it should downshift to 1st. That is what happens with mine. What setting do you have on your HPP3?

power tuning, improved shift firmness, set it to 4:10 gear ratio, shift points 1-2= +4, 2-3=+10,
3-4= =+7, and sorry i meant to say when i punch it at 30 it only shifts to 2nd, not third, but i think it should shift all the way to 1st as you said.

When you are at 30mph, you should be in 2nd gear. If you do hear and feel it shift, it actually is shifting to 1st. Those setting are about right.

it wont because of the 4.10 gears. if you have the tow/haul mode on it might but get used to it the gear is for take off power only sorry for the bad news. but if you want a hwy racer go with the 3.42 gears mine would shift into first at 35 and down shift into second all the way to 92 mph

Into second gear all the way 92 mph..... It could be your 4.10's. Mine shifts from 1-2 @ about 44-5 and from 2-3 about 85-6 with 3.73.

I have to go about 25 to kick it into first but it will hold it to about 35.
