The truck intake is actually better than the ls1 intake. Keep that, it produces more torque which you need, plus it flows like the ls6 intake.

Maybe up to 5500 rpm, but past that not a chance in hell.

LS1 intake will flow better in higher rpms, LS6 would be even better. But your best bet would be a NNBS or TBSS intake manifold with a 90mm throttle body if you really wanted to have a decent intake for a decent price

Also, OP, do not run the stock 5.3 heads. They will up the compression but they will not flow very well with that size engine. Keep the stock LS1 heads on it until you can get a decent set of 243/317/799 heads on there.

I have the 863s off the engine right now, should i go ahead and get them worked out, or should I leave those on the motor till i get my 5.3 heads out and get those worked?

It shows the 5.3 and LS1 heads flow about the same. I just ask, because I'm doing the same build and I'm going to use my 5.3 heads so I could have around 10.9:1 comp.

How much compression can you run and still have the computer be able to manage 87 octane fuel?
