so what you are saying is i dont need a complete 6.0 with all accessories and harnesses. i just need a long block which consists of block, rotating assembly, heads?

basically. seriously, think of it as taking the engine out and putting it right back in. Nothing changes other than a casting number

i need to change my flex plate? from 02 6.0 from a 2500hd?

Yep the 2500hd motor will have been mated to a 4L80E, which is a different flexplate from the 4L60E. Should be able to do a direct swap from one to the other.

yea, because the flexplate that comes with the new motor is meant for the 80e so it will not connect with the 60 but your olf 4.8 flexplate was meant for the 60 so you should put that plate on your 6.0

If you have a few brain cells you will be fine, I didnt take any notes and pulled the motor 3 months later I put my 418 in and all was well as far as install goes. Just remember the plugs on the oil pan and make sure wherever there is a sensor there is a plug in it. Be VERY careful with the oil pressure sending unit.

To confirm what Soon2bSpooled said, yes, re-use the flexplate from your 4.8. (just wanted to make sure that was clear to ya )
