Does the 4.8 have a locking rear diff stock?

on the window sticker you'd find "locking differential-rear" for the g80 trucks. the locking differential was only optional on the 4.8's.

i was on shop-key made by snap-on, does gmc even make there own posi units....swear they don't.i remeber seeing easton on the graph of the posi unit?????????????????

Eaton builds the OEM G80,it won't lock over 20MPH and it's weak.If you are looking to add a posi go with the Eaton posi with the carbon fibre clutches or an Auburn Pro.My Radix Tahoe would spin one tire from a punch when I had the G80,my Auburn Pro is much better.Besides I destroyed the G80 at the track after just a few passes.

theres a dealer around here called clark knapp chevy and mosatof the rcsb have 5.3 3.73 and g80 they are a badass dealership.

Although my truck had the G80 I hate it. I might as well have a peg leg. It unlocks right away then I have no traction at all. The G80 sucks.

I have a Aubern pro and I love it. It was the single best ET droping mod Ive done. It has held for three racing seasons of hard nitrous feed launches.

hmm never heard of the g86...

anyway, i had the auburn and 4.10s on my old truck and it worked out pretty good but it made tons of noise which was annoying.

what abot an e-locker? im looking into changing the g80 i have now, got stock in the snow and only 1 tire spun. and benifits to the eaton e-locker compared to anythign else? im thinkign of going 4.10 and the e in the spring
