Question Do I really need all of this?

I was talking to some guy this weekend about running slicks at the track. They said that I would need a driveshaft loop, 3in studs, and a helmet. I'm not worried about the helmet, because I know that if I run a 13.99 or better it is mandatory, but the loop and studs? If I have to run 3inch studs, I won't be able to run my Center Lines or stock lug covers. Anyone know anything about this? I race at a NHRA and a IRHA track. Does any one run a driveshaft loop here?

What about ET Streets, arn't they considered a street tire? Where the ET Drags are a full slick.

A driveshaft loop is required on all cars running 13.99 (8.59) seconds and quicker, except vehicles running 13.00 and slower equipped with street tires.

This comes from our local NHRA 1/4 mile track rules. I haven't seen or heard anything about studs.

The loop is a must with slicks IMO, you dont want to rip your gas tank open whent he DS splits!
