Default Different Intakes!!

It doesn't seem like anyone ever mentions having the camaro ls1 intake on our trucks...or say maybe the lingenfelter corvette intake. A friend of mine says they bolt right up and give major HP gains.

Probably because the truck intakes make more torque.

The truck intake flows better than the ls1 intake. It flows almost as good as the ls6 intake.

They aren't easy swaps. The fuel system is different than the truck. To do the swap, the entire fuel rail and intake would have to be changed, not to mention the fuel injector harnesses are different.

The '97 vette fuel rail would probably be the easiest solution to the rail problem. It has a manifold referenced regulator and return on the fuel rail. Valvegod sells harness adapters for the fbody fuel injectors.

I don't think the fuel rail/injector is the biggest problem though. There is all kinds of other stuff to hook up and the TB sits lower on the LS6 manifold.

I don't think it would be worth the hassle on a bolt-on truck, like red53gmc said, the truck intake flows almost as good as the LS6. Maybe a hardcore street strip truck with a bigger stall or a larger cube motor with tons of bottom end torque could benefit.

When I did the swap to a Bosch style injector 8 months ago, I could find no one who had done this. I called Valvegod and the best he could do was sell me a wire harness from some other vehicle (non-fbody). I paid $50 for the injector harness, then just cut the plugs off and spliced them into my factory harness. It certainly wasn't an "adapter" of any sorts. But, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

It sure sounded like they were adapters. Maybe they weren't. Here is a direct quote.

"4 injector connectors on a sub harness $25.00 (2 needed)"

If you paid $50 maybe this is still the same thing you got.

If that's the case it would probably be cheaper to just buy the injector plugs from somewhere and splice them in.

Speartech who is a sponsor in the conversion forum probably has them.

Thats the same thing I bought. Its a sub harness from a GTP or something. Basically I just cut off the 4 injector plugs from each harness. If you can find another source for them, I say do it. $50 was too much for that. I sold mine to Parish8 for $35 I think.

I bet speartech could work something up. I double sided true adapter would be great.
