the LS6 also had a upgraded oil pump as well as rod bolts

No it does not...LS6 uses the same oil pump as any other gen3 engine, rod bolt also. People get scammed all the time on "LS6 Oil Pumps" and other LS6 parts

what are they compared to a 2000 Camaro?


if i remember correctly the pump changed on the 01 LS6, and then was used on all LS1 motors after 2002, just like the intake etc, and i thought the same on the rod bolt, but i could be wrong, would like to know just for my knowledge

I was planning on putting a Melling "Ported LS6" oil pump on this, basically just because. Should I still go this route given the information. I know TSP says they see 10 more pounds with this pump versus a stock pump.

Im planning on using the plain ole Melling oil pump, or maybe the high volume standard pressure pump if I see a deal on Amazon.

I found several melling on ebay for around $96 + shipping. It has the P/N 10295. Melling also has another pump and the P/N is 10296 and is a little more money.

The p/n 10295 is what most would prob go with.
