Diff and Tranny fluids
#11
i was reading an import mag and they had an article where they put in royal purple in an integra. it gained 3 or 4 hp on the dyno.now on a V8 i can see about 7-8hp gain just for an oil change. then add less resistance in the drivetrain and it could be about 10hp.

I did a rear diff fluid change this weekend, If you have the 3.73 rear w/carbonfiiber plates, the first change is @ 7k. The price for GM synthetic 75w 90 is $28 bucks a quart, what a rip off. I used Lucas Synthetic 75w90, I got it for $9 bucks a quart.

I need to check and see if it has ever been done, because my truck has 68,000 mile on it. If it has not, I probably should get it done. THanks for the help.

Here is my experiences with Royal Purple!
The oil (racing 21 which is 5w30) gives me 15 more PSI over mobile 1 5w30.
The Coolant additive Purple Ice additive makes my 382 allbore 10 -20 degreez cooler!
Im about to change out my t-56 fluid, rear diff and power steering fluids. If anyone wants to help out your more than welcome to help tomorrow! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I'll post all my results when im done!
I love the hell outta this Royal Purple stuff!!
I heard to also use posi additive for the T-56 is this true?
Is there any easy way to drain and replace the Power Steering fluid?

They first rear diff change is @ 7k, my friend is a mechanic for GM. I Just got a list of problems from a GM tech bulliten that he gave me about our trucks. There are alot of problems with the 4.8 5.3 6.0 8.1, one of the things they are doing to fix the slap noise is to replace the push rods. I dont know if it helps anyone, bbut its covered.
