Default Detonation or No???

Heres the problem the truck drives perfectly normal under light load but if i floor it or am going up a hill or anything putting it underload i get a weird sound from under the hood i was told detonation sounds like gravel in a coffee can and thats what id describe this sound as and to make things worst when i floor it it makes that sound bad and wont down shift or even gain speed just revs and sounds trashy and the Service light will flash for a few which i was told means "Catalytic Damaging Misfire" but today it threw a "P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Range/Performance" i used my handheld to scan for DTCs anyone know what this is or any clues? any help would be greatly appreciated as for condition of the truck it curently has the factory tune in it has for over a year and uses 87 octane as soon as im empty ima fill up with 91 to see if it is detonating from Q-Trip 87 im just at a loss as to what can be wrong

Do you use a Oil'ed airfilter. ?

As the P0101 seems to suggest a MAF sensor related problem. If you do use a oiled type filter, clean that MAF sensor gently using residue free electronic cleaner.

Sorry, not trying to be a dick...it's just that a '.' at the end of each statement makes it easier to decipher.

Might be a good idea to pull the plugs and see if any one of them are fouled. MAF sensor could have been a bit off, and over time fouled a plug. Keep us updated!
