Not sure where 6700 came from so thats for someone else

I have a local machine shop that did 2 sets for me and didnt charge alot since i did all of the disassembly and putting bolts in.

There is no need to rebalance. The rod ends were not changed that much by the small amount of material taken off. The assy was already balanced before though to roughly 7800.

This 333 is spoken for. I may be building another out of an iron block, not sure. Not easy to get alum 6.0s cheap.
I will sell the kits to make them...likely with recon 4.8 gen4 rods tho.

Ive never seen ls rods be an issue at all really save for pin bores above 8k. But the hyper e pistons dont like that much either. Pin flex or distortion or overheating could be an issue also.

When its a minimal cost to do these, its a no brainer for me to do them 2 or 3 sets at a time. Once the rod hone is set up, its easy for them to knock out more sets at the same time. Good insurance and fresh surfaces.

So what was your question again? Lol

im in the "leave it alone" camp unless it's a full build with proper parts and machine work.

-strong, reliable, cheap. Pick two.

C) are 4.8 rods considered stronger for ultimate RPM simply because of the mechanics? I never hear 4.8 guys worrying about rod speed, but I might not be listening hard enough
A) There is no Official Literature. It was a conversation I was having with a GM engineer about their crate motors. Can you Tell us what Factory Spec. NA Vehicle that uses these rods and has a power band over that RPM?

B) Answered Above by OP

C) No they are not any stronger, It's the rod stroke ratio and piston speed.

I was just starting conversation, I don't have an axe to grind or an ace in my pocket.

I recently acquired an LS6, and those are a 6750 rev limit motor, oem. Tuned guys with cams and valve train are beating on SBEs to nearly 7k or better, each shift, for 20-30min sessions. So if there was a legit source talking about maximum rod speed, I wanted to read it because I like things like that.

I will say basically no one treats those 1000+ hp junkyard 5.3s with any respect and they take 7k+ for a season or so before letting go.

That's False. They have a 6600 RPM Fuel Cut Off in the OEM tune. 02 Z06, 04-05 CTS-V
Now an LS2 has a 6700 RPM rev limiter.
Can they be spun higher, Yes that's been proven.
