Default Decided on a Torque Converter!

I'm going to get the Yank 2400 from Tom at Tbyrnemotorsports. I e-mail Tom and I can get it delivered to my door for $399 and he'll take $15 off if I order it from the website. I got responses from TCI and B&M. B&M doesn't make one for my truck and the TCI tech said he wouldn't go higher than 2600 for a truck. He said the lowest they have is 2800 and if I tow or haul much, he wouldn't recommend it. Another reason for the Yank is that it's the one that Tom put in their 99 Silverado, he said it was a good mod. The Yank 2600 is $250 more and only claims to reduce your time by .1 more than the 2400. I'll be ordering it in a couple of days.

Good luck Jim! Let us know how everything works out. This is the converter that I've thought about getting for my truck, so I'm particularly interested to see how it works out for you! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

DEFINATELY go bigger!! you will never know the difference with that converter. don't go any smaller than a 2800. i got a 28 and wished i went bigger. i could barely tell a difference between stock and the 28.

You should be happy with that. That is a good starter for you and if you don't like it and decide to go bigger, I don't think you'll have much of a problem selling it.

I decided on it because my truck seems to stall at 1400, I've been told 1600 is stock though. The 2400 will give another 1000 rpm's of stall which I think will be plenty. I know it's a conservative converter but I'm conservative with things like this any way.

That converter might flash 2400, but it will only brake stall 2000 max. I have astreet fighter 2500 to me it is worthless. I sell it to you for 150 if you want to save some money.
