Well, I've tried to search and it's messed up so I need some help.

I replaced my VSC last night with a Nelson Fan Harness so I can control my electric fans with the computer. I got everything wired up and find out the battery is COMPLETELY dead. So today I go and get a battery, put it in, program the computer for the fans, hit the key and it starts right up. The thing is that it dies like 2 seconds later.

I checked the trouble codes in the computer and it says something about the theft deterrent system and fuel shutoff.

How do I reset this bastard? I tried clearing the trouble codes but, they come right back at the hit of the key.

BTW, it'll keep starting right up no problem, just won't stay started for more than 2 seconds or so. I'm assuming the fuel shutoff deal is not turning the pump on.

Well, I never completed the passkey procedure or even actually started it. The truck fired right up once I went back outside. I'm going to investigate tomorrow. The truck not starting might have had something to do with Flashscan after flashing a new file to the PCM. It works now and the computer is controlling the fans....SWEET!!

Yeah, after one FULL day I finally got it working.

First I couldn't get the stupid grey cover off the PCM clip. I finally get it off and get the harness wired up and the battery is completely, absolutely, TOTALLY DEAD. It's late so I just wait till today to get a new battery. I get it replaced and the truck won't stay started. Talk about irritated. I come inside to try and find out what I need to do to reset the Theft deal and the search feature is NOT WORKING. So I have to look like a newb and ask for help. I print the passkey thing out, go back outside and the truck starts right up.

It's been an experience.....Thank god it's over.
