Talking dc controller is back in.

yep it is in. the temp probe was bad and i tweaked it a bit to. i got another one. it is installed now. when the a/c comes on it goes to 50%. the temp probe goes on the opposite side of the radiater.it is set at 180* from the factory.at 177* they come on at 10%. and when they reach 180 they came on at 25%. the temp never went higher. i am going to test it thoroughly now.and i will give feedback to. right now i have all the wires long just in case.after i have tested it for a while i will hard wire it and take some pics.

So the controller is still working good?

I'm not sure if I should go for the 35 or the 60 amp version.

35 should work, the 60 sounds like a real safe bet.

How does the AC line hookup - is it the same as the F-a-L setup, where you find the ground wire that's triggered when the compressor is turned on?

In the instructions on the DC site, it almost sounded like the controller was looking for a positive voltage at the AC input.

I sent these guys an email - waiting to hear back on them on a recommendation for which controller to use. The chances of me getting a quality controller by this weekend is growing more and more slim...

Hm... I know flex-a-lite puts a 40amp fuse inline ... and they told me their 25amp controler wasnt enough so go for the 60

there is a blue wire that hooks up the a/c. then a battery wire ground and the fan wires and you are done. the 60 amp version is what i got just in case.

Thanks!

Brian told me the 60's are sold out til friday, but he thinks the 35A will be perfectly fine.

I sent him a link to the SilveradoSS site, showing a melted 40A fuse holder, and told him I trust his discretion...

Be careful.. in the end its YOU paying for anything messed up. Is the 60 amp much more than the 35?

Maybe a $50 difference?

Good call - I'm verifying how the situation would be handled if there were any issues...
