Default DBW tb porting

has there been any successful drive by wire tb porting done by anyone?
were there any significant gains?
did it require major tuning done to it?

search for ss boon ss, I think he had a write-up and everything. He's done several. The gains aren't great though, my guess is just under 10rwhp.

Lance,

I had went with a shaner ported TB on my crew cab when I still had it. IMO, save the money for something else. It seemed to crack the throttle a bit quicker, but other than that I had too many issues with it. Seems that I just about always had crazy idle issues with it. With the A/c on, at low speeds it was idle real high, like when stuck in stop and go traffic, I just couldn't idle along, I was stuck keeping my foot on the brake continously. Then when I tried to swap back to my original TB, it just wouldn't take, I could not get it to run at all on the stock TB after using the ported one, it would just run in reduced power mode when I tried.

Was Shaner thinning/knife edging the throttle plate or something? I've not had 1 idle issue with any of my TB's. If someone ever did, there'd be a full refund in order... that's just BS to put up with high idle.

there was an attempt to do mine which turned out to be a disaster....

SS_bnoon_SS, if I still had it I'd ship it to you for parts if you wanted it, but I just chunked it in the garbage a few weeks ago
