double check all your plug wires, some may have came loose. check and see if you are getting any fuel, Is the SES light illuminated ?

Sounds like a random misfire problem

it kept turning over... you know the usual 3 - 4 turns and then it would shake like it was supposed to sart.... then it just did that in a cycle....

i have the 5.3 tune in it now just for test running resons.... didnt want to do a relearn if i wasnt sure if it was going to start....

SO NOW HERE IS THE DUMB PART!!!!!!! i just ran to the gas station for beer and smokes and on the way home it dawned on me........... I FORGOT TO TIGHTEN HALF OF THE INTAKE BOLTS No brains no headaches i guess

I don't think the tune/PCM will matter. I ran mine on the 5.3 factory PCM with Hypertech tuning for a few weeks. Mine fired right off. If you are sure you are getting fuel, check for spark. I'm not sure about all of your "details", ie. stock valve train, (timing may be way out), was it a complete motor, did you swap intakes, etc (May have a serious vacum leak) My swap was simple as I had a complete motor, COMPLETE down to the spark plugs and wires. Recheck all of your connections around the coilpacks and such. Pull a plug and see if you are getting spark.

Make sure the wire harness' to the coil pack mains aren't crossed.

Make sure you have the left bank coil pack harness to the left bank and not vise versa

It's happened before and caused a similar symptom...it's worth a shot
