I just want to make at least 380rwhp, about the same as a blown 5.3, but 2/3 the price
. I wish I could afford a turbo or a radix

I have an LS1 swap, and with stock LS1 heads, TR 224/.563/112 cam, stock cast iron manifolds, stock converter, slipping 60-e and a 2.3 60' I pulled 13.91 @ 101. On 20's.
Is that enough excuses?!?!
I would think that a H+C LS1 w/ a GOOD setup (converter, gears, and traction) should easily pull mid-low 13's at over 105mph in a RCSB.

Do you already have the LS1? I'm asking because usually they are more expensive than a 6.0. You could do a heads/cam 6.0 and be DEEP in the 13's. Think about the set-up Slowprocess has. He's in the mid 12's in a reg. cab with a 6.0L with h/c.

for what you want the ls1 reasons why: 1) better mileage for sure 2)it will get you exactly where you want to go and will even hold up to a 150+ shot with the right tuning and fuel pump 3) will prolly be much cheaper 4) less upgrades required again with the drivetrain parts although i know someone with a 408 running a 60 ( not a 65 but a 60 ) e tranny i think i have answered all of your questions although i would love to see you with a 383 the ls1 would prolly be better overall and with that you could see 11's pretty easily in my opinion just get a little bigger cam than what you are looking at hell people put those things in 5.3s
and spray the **** out of it hell just PM sloprocess and he will tell you what all motor will do sorry for the length

Thanks for all the replies guys! Yeah, I've got the LS1 shortblock covered up under my patio in my backyard. It's got 90,000 miles on it and is in pretty good condition for the miles, just needs some cleaning up. I'm fixing to buy new bearings, pistons/rings, springs, retainers, lifters, cam, and gaskets within the next few months. I wanna go ahead and put a Trailblazer Converter in my truck and see what it does with the 5.3. It should work awesome! I think I will go with the H/C LS1, it's just hard to believe that .4 liters will make that much difference! Thats why I've debated on it for so long, 5.7 vs 6.2. I guess a 100 wet shot would do the trick! What do ya'll think?
