Default Cutting off exhaust tips

I have duel 3 inch exhaust tips and they are really rusting now. If I cut them off will there be a different sound to my exhaust, better sound?

When I picked up my truck, it had big, nasty, chrome tips on it. I got under with a hacksaw and WD-40 as soon as I got home to hack them bitches off. The WD-40 cools and lubricated the hacksaw blade and is highly recommended.

I lost this slight resonation that those tips created. Sound sounds better.

It won't be as 'loud' as it would be with the tips. If you look under there, you will see a hanger about 6" in front of the rear axle. I'd cut then right there. I'm assuming you have duels, prolly a single in/duel out muffler. I've got mine turned down right there with a Flow40 and get complemented on it all the time. I would at least leave enough to catch that last hanger for added support.

I've got true duels with x-pipe and headers, I might do it tomorrow, hopefully it will give it a better sound.

Grab the hacksaw and get after it then. Get some safety glasses while your at it though .. I had a bad experience with a hacksaw, exhaust pipe and my left eye under my truck. Cost me about 2 bills at the eye doctor and some pain and agony.

I didn't use any WD-40, but if you wanna, grab it .. Hit Man comes up with some crazy stuff sometimes. I think he's if ya know what I mean.
