I've got mine right after the headers
The Service light only pops on if I run them open for a good 10 minutes, then will shut off when I close them for 10 minutes.

if he gets the rear 02s tuned out he wont throw any codes. but i'm not sure how necessary back pressure is....

just got my cutouts taken off because i couldnt pass smog even with them closed haha
dont do before the cats unlesss u get tuned for it
