They are welded into a place on the exhaust and lets exhaust out way before mufflers... basically makes the vehicle alot louder.... Some will argue it adds horsepower, but its minimal if any at all... Thats the best description I can give... Not much to it at all...

(if you can get someone or you to weld them before the cats. it probably will help alot... and be a **** load louder..)

The difference can be dramitic depending on the mods and the car in question.

According to my buddys gtech i got around 10rwhp from my cut out. We all know that the gtech isnt completely accurate, but its close. Before the cutout its said 244rwhp after the cutout it said 254rwhp. I dont know alot about the gtech yet, it could be wrong, i dont own one yet.

i consistanly see .1 or more from a cut out but that is usualy with some kind of power adder. with the turbo i see .2+sec, 2+mph, and 50+RWHP by opening the cut out. for drag racing cut outs are a good thing. cheap hp.

check out this thread, there are some dyno numbers in there. cut outs add hp. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ghlight=cutout

Also vho you will have to get 2 because you have true duals all the way into the muffler. I am thinking about getting some electric ones for my SS, but just haven't make up my mind yet. Good luck.

Im going to get an electric one very soon also. I dont mind it being very loud but when i have my daughter (she is 6) she complains alittle. So i want to be able to open and close it with the ease of a switch. Its no biggie to me to get another one cause i got the one i have now installed for $10.

Any good places to check out that have good prices on eletric cutouts??????????????
