Default Custom Turbo Install

I am wanting to build a custom turbo kit for my truck. I have no previous experience with turbos, so I am in need of a lot of advice. I know I will need a turbo, blowoff valve, and wastegate. What other parts will be needed, and what flowrate should I build my system for. I know I can find some powerstrok diesel turbos cheap, but would this work for my 4.8L. Please lead me in the right direction!

If you have no experience with turbos what so ever, why would you wanna do a custom system, which would require a lot of knowledge and a ton of fabrication ?????

If you have experience fabing parts go for it. If not, you may want to consider a kit. Try asking the same question in the forced induction section. You should get a better response.

how else are you supposed to learn about something? I had no experience modding engines when I got my truck, and now I do.

You have the right additude. You need to talk to parish8. He has plenty of experience in turbos. Do a search on him, you'll fine plenty of info.

I would suggest hitting up the FI section first. Soak up all you can and then plan it out.
