My original plan was to creat a seperate oiling system for the turbo. There's only 1 problem with that(on the FBody's anyway), that problem is that you have to have the reservoire below the turbo because the return line is a gravity drain thus there is no pressure. The pump would in turn be used for the pressure side but without the reservoire below the turbo you would need 2 pumps and they run about $200 a pop.

You are better off getting an STS kit, because you can know that it's going to work well for your goals, and you are probably going to end up spending about the same in the end minus all the headaches.
Spending the same...no it is much cheaper to diy if you have the know how.
minus headaches...see above, if you have the know how they won't be that bad.

I am pieceing my turbo kit together for my truck right now. I think it will end up costing me about 2500 when it is all said and done. I will be doing all the fab work myself, so i am saving some money there.

I figured it all up, and it is gonna end up costing me 2K.

One question here that I do not understand. If the turbo has a wastegate, do I need a blow off valve?

The waist gate controls boost, by letting exhaust gas pass through it instead of spooling the turbo.

The blow off valve bleeds off boost in the pressure side of the turbo when you let off the throttle closing the butterfly. If the boost is not bleed off it will back spool the turbo. In extreme boost applications it could bend the butterfly on the throttle body.

In an automatic a blow off valve is not as necessary because you do not have to let off for the up shift.

You might want to talk to STS and see how in the hell they size their turbos for the rear mount setup. You can't just stick any old turbo on there, because of how far away it is. The exhaust housing needs to be sized properly. Try seeing if you could buy just the turbo from them. Keep us posted!
