The 360 RWHP will make me happy because I don't want to blow this tranny. (Are my drivetrain loss #'s correct with this tranny and verter?... I'm figuring 20%) When I run the turbo and then save some more money for a 4l80e, I may up the boost to put me to 400 RWHP or so.

Also, should I have him raise that line pressure with a Transgo and this tranny?
Another thing as far as the tuning. At work we sell these lil OBDII scanners for only about 90 (After my discount) that I can see EVERYTHING from IAT to timing to KR to A/F ratio. I can use this to tell Herter what is going on and what we need to adjust with the tune.

EDIT:
Another concern:
Is this going to destroy my TCI SF? Will all this extra torque in any way effect stall speed?

Hmmm... LS6 cam and springs, headers, intake, 93 hot tune, no cats, dumped muffler....

I think 290 or maybe close to 300 to the wheels now.
Not exactly sure.

Boost is just a percentage man. If your goals are 360 rwhp it won't take much at all to make that. I think your goals are a little low for what your wanting to do with a turbo. For instance here's how you can figure how much HP you will make assuming everything is setup correctly and tuned correctly...

HP * (1+ (((BOOST PSI * 100) / 14.7) / 100)) = NEW HP

So for instance, your setup with 5lb's of boost...

300rwhp * (1 + (((5psi * 100) / 14.7) / 100)) = 402rwhp

Thus 5psi is good for ((5*100) / 14.7) % or 34% more power.

I can't imagine going to all the trouble of building a turbo for 50-60hp. FWIW, my stock 4l60e went out with 12,000 miles on it and I was only making 300-350rwhp.

So really.... if I could afford a new tranny, I could make 100+- RWHP with about 1500 in a turbo setup?
That is crazy!

I may just have to go ahead and do it when I get the money and start saving for a tranny. Where did you get that formula slyws6? Pretty neat!

Can you tell me how you ran that turbo oiling system?

You need an external oil pump such as a Mocal to pump oil to the turbo. If you have the nipple that is right above the oil filter drilled and tapped it will provide oil back to the turbo then you use the pump for the return line back from the turbo to the oil pan. I had a chunk of aluminum welded onto the oil pan then drilled and tapped for the return oil.

As far as the formula it's pretty much goes like this, atmospheric pressure is 14.7:1 thus doubling the pressure will double your horsepower potential. So in order to find out what more or less boost will do you just come up with a formula like I showed above.

Check out this website, www.toohighpsi.com. This guy builds homebuilt twin turbo systems. I know they are mostly Ford's but there is some good info.

I consider my self a fairly skilled welder and ‘rigger’. I have tossed this idea around for a long time. I was thinking running an external oil pump like Sly but making a separate oiling system for it. All you would need is a catch can, you can mount an inline cooler, if you run a separate oiling system you can make it modular and reduces the risk of motor oil seeing day light because something went wrong.

I actual think that a twin set up would be easer and cheaper because you dont have to fab a crossover for the exhaust and you could just turn your stock exhaust manifolds around mount the turbo right off of them.

i thought about custom fabbing a turbo kit also.

You are better off getting an STS kit, because you can know that it's going to work well for your goals, and you are probably going to end up spending about the same in the end minus all the headaches.
