Default tune problems after trailblazer tc & transgo install?

well I now have my transgo shift kit, vette servo, and trailblazer converter installed. The truck feels much stronger, however it seems that torque management is slowing me down considerably.
What are some observations on custom tunes? How much Tm should I remove?
I know the TM is dropping my timing at shift points, the truck falls on its face for a split second.
Do you guys think Tm is also affecting my converter?
The truck will now brake stall to 2500 rpms in 4Hi.
The transmission also shifts extremely hard which I like.
Has anyone else experienced problems with a higher than stock stall and no Tm deleted?
Thanks in advance for the input.

Im still new at this too. But I have been told by others here to look into a Nelson tune. You might want to look into that.

give nelson a look. and yes tqm can and will cause all kinds of problems. especially with the shift kit and servo's. it will be retarding timing due to the pcm feeling abuse.

You diffently need a tune with those mods. Myself I have a nelson tune and it does the job well. If I could go back I would get one of the tuning programs(ls1edit, HP tuners) and I still might go that way. At the time that I need a tune I new I didn't have the knowlegde to do myself so I had to go with the mail order tune.

'Lee Green' not to hijack your thread, but how do you like the torque converter. I have read and read about this, but what was you first impression? How is it compared to the stock converter as far as a general feel and daily driving?

I think it's always there, but you can feel it alot more with a looser converter. When I got a TT3000, I could really feel right when it pulled timing after the shifts. Also, on a launch, the TM was brutal for about 1 second before it would take off.

Ridered,
my first impression of the converter was that it seemed quite a bit looser than stock. engine seems to rev to about 2 grand before the truck starts to pull very much at normal throttle. the truck also seems to stay in the powerband after shifts better than before. rpm drop between shifts is not much.
on driveability their is a definite difference, mainly on takeoff, you have to give it more pedal to get it to move. It will take a little getting use to, but is not really annoying to me.
My observation thus far is that it was a great mod for a fair price. when I get a custom tune then I will be able to get realworld performance gains, and have a better overall opinion
