Custom 4" intake setup. Need advice.

BigJ - 10 feet should be enough tube. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
The 4" elbow I bought was a little large for the throttle body. I cut a couple of slits into the edge about 3/4" and applied heat via a torch. When the PVC was warm, I squeezed it in to make it fit tight. Then wrapped the rim with the stock rubber gasket and clamp.
I may add that K&N cone filter (from the old body style trucks - $50 @ pepboys) that fits right on the end of the MAF at some time.

I figured 10' because I know I will screw up at least once. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> That sucks that you have to buy a 10' stick at Home Depot.
So you did not relocate your MAF when you went with the custom intake? I can't find the link to your pictures anymore and I forgot how you did your setup. The cone filter from the old engines sounds like a good idea. I wish I knew a way to keep the heat shield with the new setup and move the MAF to the T/B.
There are so many ways to run a custom intake I don't know which one to try. I want this to be the last time I have to fool with the intake. It would be nice to run a filter that does not require oiling too.
I feel a weekend long project comming on. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
