Default !?!?! Crew Cab recipes !?!?!

Im ready to order some parts for my truck, 09 silverado crew cab 5.3 2wd

my budget is $2k

Im thinking a cam kit
DOD delete
LT headers
and rear gears for now...

what cam setup are you crew cab owners running?

Its my DD, a few times during the summer I tow our 26' boat to the lake

I got a BTR cam..dod delete..and vvt package for sale in the classified section if you are thinking cam swap.. got over 1300.00 tied up in it and traded truck in.

I bought an L92 short block for $1500. Put in low cost heads (cleaning them up and a valve job was actually more than I paid for them....317 casting), and a cam kit in for about $1K and am very happy.

I know that blows your budget, but if you went the same route without buying heads and just used the ones you have, you may be able to squeeze in at $2K. Admittedly, I bought an L92 with a bad lifter in order to get a really good deal (replacement lifter was less than $20) and I already own HPTuners so I didn't have to pay for a pro tuner.

My route was a good choice for me, but may not be the right route for others.

LT headers, Tune, 4.10s, Vette servo, straight through muffler of your choice...heck that may be just a little over $2000..thats the route i would take

Headers, tune, muffler and you will be fine.

thanks for the replies... it looks like I'm going to go over the $2k budget. LOL

I just ordered the 228r cam kit, dod delete, vvt delete, long tube headers, 4:10 rear gears, and now I'm trying to figure out which stall speed and which brand converter to order. any input would be helpful.

I've been told 3200-3600 stall. I tow a boat a few times during the year

i would have went a little smaller on the cam..maybe a 212/218 or maybe the tsp220 with 3200 stall..if im not mistaken you are gonna want more stall with the 228r..circled makes some nice converters
