AFAIK, Crane makes Vinci cams to Vinci specs with Vinci lobe designs. But I am willing to be wrong on this.

I would agree with that, crane makes their cams but to their specs.

Vinci != Crane.

Joe Vinci is a local (orlando) speed shop owner (called Vinci High Performance strangely enough )

He may use Crane cams, but I don't know for sure. Joe's a nice guy, though.

Well, My 044 cam had a Crane grind card that listed the grind as an: HR-210/3121-2S-14 4A, which Crane on thier website lists as PN#1449555....and the specs are the same between the two

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought the question was whether VHP was owned by Crane.

I have no idea on the cams, but from what Yelo posts, sounds pretty likely, don't it

Yelo: I'm a newbe thats been following your cam selection because I plan to use a simular approach in my 5.3L. I'm curious why you slected the 114* LSA instead of the 112* as in the CR1449571 cam? Whats the advantge of both?

Can you use the stock retainers with the 912 springs? Thanks

Welcome !!!!

I chose the 114º lsa because of idle quality issues....the 112º would have had a slightly rougher idle and since my goals are 100% stock drivablity and keeping the wife happy the 114º seemed the better choice. Also...even though it doesn't really pertain to me because of the county I live in...the 114º will pass smog better because of the reduced overlap.

As for the 912 springs....that's a HONDA valve spring, I'm going to assume that you mean the 918's ?? If so, YES...you can use the stock retainers with the 918's

Thank you for the information, yes, typing error...918's. No I dont think you need to worry about emissions where you are. I spent many years with Calif. Guard at Iwrin a long time ago . One more question: Will you use stock rockers and rods? Thanks for your help
