Question Could I get away with one cat?

Well I have a 2006 RST Silverado. As you guys know it came with JBA shorties, but I bought pacesetter LT's with the ORY. However, I want to be able to pass emissions in the future. I am looking at going with one cat right where the Y meets. It is made by vibrant and is the round metal core cat, item number 7102. What do you guys think? Would my truck pass emissions? Thanks in advance!

Why don't you tell us what state you're in and what kind of inspection they do.

You'd fail (visual) inspection if you did that in Texas. The law here reads that the vehicle must have the same number of cats as from factory, and they must be in the same (relatively speaking) position.

That's the law here in Jersey too...cat's must be there, in factory location. You could always put some dummy cats in the ORY, they won't be in the factoy location, but should be close enough to fool most state inspectors.

Another option is OBX LT's if you are 2WD they have resinatiors that on a visual inspection would look like cats and they are farely close to the stock locations
