The removal of the OE system and the install of the Corsa single side exit on my 05 Z71 ECSB went easy. To remove the OE I pumped my Airlift ride height bags to the max of 100 psi and they provided plenty of clearance to remove it with out any cutting. The two nuts on the connection flange are angled as if to be as difficult to get to as possible but with some extensions and a 15mm swivel deep well socket it went smooth.
The install was a breeze. The rubber hangars were the hardest part. They were tighter than I had anticipated. There was plenty of grease left on the body attached hooks from the factory install. I learned to put the lube in the hole first instead of on the barbed tip.
It's all stainless. It looks really well made. The clamps are some serious hardware. The muffler is a straight through design.
The tips are the most elaborate I have ever seen. They both have Corsa laser etched on the tops.
The sound. Inside there is a slight noise, being just enough to remind you what you of have. It is only when you are accelerating at a medium pace at low speeds in a tall gear that it gets close to being a resonance. I am really picky about this and I can say if it were any more I would be disappointed.
Outside it is mellow at cruise and when you run it hard and it gets into the upper RPMs she roars nicely and turns heads. I took a right onto a major road about a block up stream from a huge RaceTrack gas station. Lots of folks filling up. As I went by just getting into the upper RPMs most of them looked to see what it was. It is not the sound of the standard flow mastered dual rear exit units that are most common around here. I really like it.
Performance? I think this straight through free flowing design is messing with the OE tune. There are some differences. The low end is un-changed. She winds up good but the sound is getting more of my attention now than the seat of my pants. The MPG is down by 1 mpg but you know what I have been doing. For sure I have not lost anything. I have not driven it a bunch either.
All in all I really like it. I'm glad I went with the Touring edition. All I need now is my Nelson 93 tune.
