I would recomend 2 4x8x16 bassani mufflers and a x pipe. My buddy has his dumped and can carry a phone conversation while driving. They dont market a 3" muffler but if your interested ill fill you in on how to get them.

on my 415 thats the setup i am going with but exit will be behind rear tire where the stock exit is.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of going with a Y-pipe into a single muffler vs a true dual system with an X-pipe? Is one better than the other?

Sorry for all the questions but I really don't feel like redoing the exhaust again after this and this is about my third time to change stuff.

Best setup ever, Corsa touring + ARH highflow cats + 2 resonators. Really mean when you need it.

X pipe is a bit quieter until you step on it and helps alot with drone. LS engines tend to like the y pipe but I go with what I like the sound of.

Just wanted to do a little update on my exhaust setup. This past weekend I finished the install. I installed ARH 1 7/8th headers w/cats with an ORY. From there its 3 in. stainless into a Corsa touring finished off with a Corsa Tip. It totally transformed my truck. Before I had constant noise and drone and now I have something much more desirable, a sleeper. I'm on the road during the week so it will be a bit before I can get some video but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The G 80 has been broken for awhile so I went ahead and did a truetrac and upgraded to 4.11 yukon gears as well. Due to the break in I haven't been able to get on it but just revving it up in neutral it sounds wicked. I need to get it retuned but before I do that and I want to put about 500 miles on it, change the diff fluid and make sure the rearend is properly broken in. I'm also going to order a Mag-Hytec diff cover and replace the tired stock diff cover when I change the fluid.

I don't know how much more power, if any, I am going to make considering I'm running through a single 3 in. pipe but the headers are bigger and the exhaust is all stainless with mandrel bends, so we'll see. Regardless, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. The truck is finally pleasant to drive normally and the drone appears to be a thing of the past. The truck made 420 rwhp/tq on the previous setup so it would be nice to pick up a little bit.

I still haven't taken this truck to the track since I installed the 408 but I will make it happen after I get it retuned. Would be cool to get into the 13's, think that's possible?

The hardest part was the headers, they don't fit this truck and the upper control arm mounts had to be modified on both sides to make them work. Also had to do additional trimming on the ears of the 80E. My truck is very unique since its an early 99 3/4 ton "light duty" non-HD. Its also 2wd so it uses a unique front suspension with coil springs not torsion bars. Nothing aftermarket fits when it comes to exhaust upgrades. I'm so glad its all done but it was a royal pain getting here.

Still liking the new exhaust set up? I'm still looking to change my exhaust but I'm worried about running my 408 through a single 3in exhaust to take advantage of the corsa system..

I love it. I cant believe how awesome it turned out. Just as others have stated its very mellow and tame at startup, idle and just normal around town driving. No annoying drone or anything like that. When you mash it though its just downright nasty. I still need to get it retuned so I don't yet know whether or not I lost anything with the single 3 in. exit. I really doubt it considering I upped the headers to 1 7/8ths. Even if you did lose a few hp the sound and driveability is worth it IMO.
