Default Cooling system maintenance. Flush and fill

I picked up an 04 H2 yesterday with 140k on it. It was more of a seat of the pants purchase, for 6k.
I'm going to drain and fill with all new fluids. Should I stick with Dexcool and distilled water, or is there a better route to go? I use cat ec-1 rated red coolant in my diesels, it is silicate free and does not gunk up anything. Can I use that with distilled after a thorough Flush? I've read about dexcool being "dexkill" and gumming things up.

the way I look at it, is it's been used for 13yrs and 140k miles so far, so fresh and new should be ok, but I figured I'd ask around before making a decision.
