Default Converting to Posi Unit...Which One?

Have a 1996 8.5", 10-Bolt, 3.42 Ratio, Non-Posi...Want to convert to Posi. Where should I look to buy a new Posi unit? Which brand? How much do they go for? Heard that an Eaton unit is a "rebuildable" unit & others are not? Any recomendations? Thanks, Ed

I just got my Eaton installed today. The only 2 I know are Eaton and Auburn. I think the Eaton is rebuildable and that's why it costs more than the Auburn. Don't quote me though.
I got my Eaton off ebay for $350 brand new.
I haven't had a chance to give the gas pedal a good stomping because I just got my stock 3.73s changed to 4.10s.
After I break em in I'll let you know how the whole setup is

Just go with Eaton. Although many nave had great experiences with Auburn, I did not. I became a one legger after 9 months of use.

Auburn is more than the Eaton from what I have sen in the past. I went with an Auburn Pro and have been that way for over 2 years. No problems. Seen a few Eatons snap though. Either one will probably be fine.
