No No pics yet but I hope soon. I talked to dennys driveshafts today and the new two piece is a little over 450. Not to bad. I just can't wait to get the t-case off. Does anyone know how much that thing weighs. I was guessing around 70-90 lbs. I drove around a little tonight and the weight transfer is better. It launches hard. Well I will keep posted. i see in some of your posts you talk about a tail shaft housing and others you talk about a 2wd tranny. you will need the whole tranny, the output shaft is diferent and just a new tail shaft housing wont get you to 2wd but it sounds like you know this all ready.
tcase is around 90lb's for an autotrack or 80lb's for a manual case.

A 2wd tranny? That's just stupid! Why didn't GM just make ONE '60 case and leave the rear of it setup to accept either config? It would make too much sense.
If a tranny swap is involved, then that doesn't make it worth it to me. I'd want to swap back and forth "somewhat" easily. I don't feel like keeping two trannies around.

Didn't mean to diss you setup Jarednut4ever, I was just expressing my observation of how easy it is to get stuck in 2 wheel drive. You can do decent off roading in 2wd if you have mud tires. I now realize that this has nothing to do with your goal. But as for on road handling, I love auto 4 so I don't have to baby the throttle in the rain to avoid spinning out
Ouch man,Yeah I have bridgestone dueler AT's not much of an off road tire when things get wet. Although they make it fun to charge hills in 2wd to seeing how high you can get before fishtailing around.
I am sorry to hear you have a Z71 that gets stuck that easy in 2wd, Thank god you do have a 4wd.
