"Is Yank 3500 to much for a 4.8?"

I would think so, especially if it stays a 4.8...

hey white53... why would you say a 3500 stall would be too much (even though the "truck" version is 3200)? personal preference?

if any other reason i think the 3200 would be great for the 4.8L, its those rpms that you would be skipping that kill the 4.8L in the 1/4 anyways

It's very tough driving w/o spinning the wheels. To get going from a stop in the rain ain't a walk in the park either. I've heard that the PI converters are not as loose as the Yanks and are more streetable.

I have no problem with my truck in the rain or dry weather with my yank 3200. I have the 3.73's and the locker rear end also. I think the Yank is much more streetable than the PI. The 2800 PI (vigilante) in my friends car was much more of a pain and was looser than my 3200 seems in my truck. I also think the 4.8 needs a smaller stall. Yes it may help it off the line. But getting a bigger stall is not an answer for a smaller motor. I wish I had the 3000 stall in my truck, instead of the 3200. But I am still happy with it.

Going to a bigger stall can slow you down in some cases. If you get a big stall, you still need a good motor to make the use of it properly, IMO.

Thanks for the reply's guys, but I think im going to go with the 3200. As of now my truck runs 14.86 and I have a cam on the way so after the two and a little weight reduction I am wanting to see some 13's. Because I know its a B**** getting these 4.8 to run!

I cannot remember the exact tire size, but I am almost positive that it is... 285/60/16 on the stock steel wheels. Yes they fit, and they hook good too! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
