Default converter and head question

I have a question about the 3000 yank. I want to know if it is sloppy at all in the lower rpm's. I am strongly concidering the 2600 yank because of towing and $$$. Also, I wanted to ask what kind of improvement people are getting with stage II heads. I am looking to getting some stage II heads, with a 10.5 compression ratio. Thanks.

I also wanted to ask what gears I should go with, I can't decide between 3.73, 3.90, and 4.10. I am going to keep stock wheels for a while and have 275/60R16's toyo's on them.

A larger diameter converter will feel less loose than a tiny one. I drove around with a 9.5" 2800 PI converter a while in a different car and well you get used to the looseness pretty quickly.

All I hear is good stuff about that Yank 3K, you can't go wrong with it. It also has full towing capacity.

http://www.absolutespeed.net/ is where I'd get heads done, very nice and honest guys. They will also port your heads according to your cam. I would not do bigger valves as the 5.3 has a small bore. It would be cheaper to just stuff a 6.0+spray in there instead of paying for heads+install.

Gears depend on how much highway driving you do and if you are gonna go with taller tires. 3.73:1's are always a good choice for all around and upgrade that Garbage-80 factory locker while it is apart.

Thanks for the advice. That is what I was wondering about, because the 2600 is a larger diameter than the 3000. As far as gears go, I will get a larger diameter rim sometime but only like 17's or 18's.
