Default Confused on TB stuff

I'm trying to figure out this TB stuff and I'm quite confused. I have a 05 LM7 and I believe I have the 83 TB but maybe I have a 78?? Would it be worth it at all to put a 90 on it right now and if so would the volant I plan on buying fit on a 90?

The volant will fit but the TB wont fit on your intake. You have the 3 bolt, most 90mm ls2/ truck tbs are 4 bolt.

Plus, you have to get the X-link harness or similar adapter to make it work....

You need either a TBSS intake or a newer truck manifold with the 4 bolt throttle body opening, then you can run the larger throttle body with the 4 bolt pattern. The make the throttle body work with your vehicle you need an adapter harness to plug in the electronics on the throttle body.

Maybe this will help you put it into perspective, a 78mm TB will flow over 700 cfm and a 2002 Z06 at 405 hp flows just a little over 600 cfm. With your truck being stock, there are several other mods you can do before you need to increase the TB. Also, if your truck is DBW you can add a 85mm much easier.
