Default Complete 6.0L with 10,000 miles

I found a GM Salvage place that sells engines out of wrecked Silverado's and other GM trucks. Without giving them my 4.8 for a core the want $2500 for a 6.0L with everything to do the swap. And for an extra thousand i can get a 4L80e to go with it. I personally don't no how much i can get for my 2003 4.8 with 16,000 miles on it, what do you guys think about the 6.0L price and what can i get for my motor. Also would i need the 4l80e right away. And will a stock 6.0L still pass smog in my truck even though my truck came with a 4.8 to begin. i don't really care if it passes but i just need the facts... Apperence wise the 6.0 pretty much from a glance looks the same right. Also he said i can get a long block for $1000 but with out all the top ****. Can i use all my pcm and other sensor and stuff from the 4.8

yes you can resue all the acessories and intake and all the other crap from your 4.8. $2500 I am sure if you look around you can find a better price either on ebay or one of the guys on here.

Hey do you happen to have the contact info for the yard? $3500 isn't too bad for a 6.0/4l80e as long as it has everything. Let me know.

you can definitely get cheaper though. $1200 for the 6.0 longblock and 800-1000 for the 4l80-e

If I only need a long block you would be correct but I'm swapping into a non gen 3 powered vehicle so I need everything and there aren't a whole lot of deals on ebay that come with all the accessories, harness, pcm, etc. But, I agree if you already have a newer truck I'd just get an ebay long block deal, or better yet a 408

Yeah, you can definitely do better than $3500 with time and patience.
BTW, your 4.8 programming will run the 6.0 just fine. If you make good with your dealer or go Predator you can change to the 6.0 files no problem.
