Default Comp 224/230 in a 5.3

I just thought I'd post up some info of this cam in a friends lil 5.3 in an ex cab s10. I don't know power wise what its making, but this cam pulls like a **** from 4000 or so up to about 6800-6900 rpm, setup to shift at 6700 now. Cam drives well and idles great at 800-850. I just thought I'd post up about it for someone in the future that may be interested in this cam. I don't remember the exact lift (.580's) i believe. It was on a 114 lsa. When tuning it, I noticed that his stock injectors are starting to max at about 6500 rpm, but isn't running out of fuel, the leanest is gets is 13.2, so thats not too bad. Even on the 114, it had a nice lope. This is on the truck intake and stock 78 mm tb btw.

Sounds like a familiar cam.

I have the EPS 224/230 610/605 111. Mine makes peak power at 6300 and was still making peak power at 6400 when we backed off on the dyno. Shifting at 6800 and it pulls really nice up top.
Made 340rwhp on a mustang dyno in 3rd gear. Only engine mods are the cam and Long Tube Headers plus tune.

Good to know! I am looking at this cam for my 4.8 on a 110 now, looking to spin to 6800~7000.

I had that cam in my bored 5.3 with Crane 1.7 rockers. It worked well with the D1sc, see times in sig.

made more HP and TQ all over the RPM range than my 216/220 525/532 114 did.

For more accurate display I put the data into excel. The picture above has 2 seperate power displays for HP and TQ. My excel version displays them both on the same level.
