Before anyone tears me apart. Yes I have read threads on swaping an ls into a colorado. However, none that I have read are detailed to give someone what they need to do it, and some are just plain scetchy. I am looking for a straight up answer on what is needed to swap out the 3.5 for an Ls, most likely from a truck or SUV. I have an 05 Colorado Ls ext cab Z71 4x4 3.5 automatic. I know wiring harness and motor moutns are required. And then? Why get out of the 3.5? It has 260,000 miles on it and its tired.

 

First of all you should go check out 355nation lots of info there.

And for the swap

you need a wiring harness there's a guy in Canada who makes them specific for the colorados for a lot cheaper (and better) than CPW

You need a engine:24x crank will make it a little more involved of a install 58x will be easier wiring wise but you'd have to swap your ecm not that bad of a job

Motor mounts: CPW has the best ones just buy there's

Headers: if your on a budget then stock truck manifolds will work otherwise Doug thorley tri y headers

If your not in a rush you can get this done for $2000 or less making the right deals and doing the install yourself

Basically gen 3 24x crank reluctor or gen 4 58x crank reluctor
