Default Cold feet about new cam

Last August I bought a new cam for my truck - specs are 220/218, .581/.563, 111 Comp XER intake lobe and XE exhaust. I never installed it because I was still running the stock converter. It's been sitting unopened in the box in my basement.

Since that time I've acquired, but not yet installed a Yank TT3000, LS6 intake manifold, Detroit Tru-Trac and 4.10s.

My plan was to install all of this together this spring (except the LS6 intake because I still need some of the misc. stuff) along with the cam. The intake would be a summer project.

Now I'm having cold feet about swapping the cam. Thinking maybe I should have went bigger like a 222/224, .58x/.58x on a 110 or so.

The truck really isn't a DD anymore, but it sees no track time. Only street. So which would be better for the street? Now is my last chance before I do the work.

Sounds like a great combo, if I told you what a buddy just ran with a smallish cam like that you would say Im crazy that an NA 6.0 with those mods cant run like that; theres no way with 3:73 you can 60 ft that.
I preach it constantly about the power that can be made with a smaller cam and the right setup but no one wants to listen.
That cam looks OK the only thing I dont like is intake intake bias and the xer lobe should be on the exhaust. The exhaust lobe should be bigger but I think it will run well in your setup, just make sure you got some slicks

Here's a link to a 226/224-111 in a 6.0L LQ4, stock heads + bolt ons. LINK
Curve wise. This is what you'll be looking at. Just a tiny 226 lobe pulling to 6500 w/ 364 cubes. You don't need as much cam as you might think. It was ran with and without a cutout. No difference in power. I actually wish the XE-R line went down to 210* for the 4.8 guys.

Damn, I like how flat the torque curve is from 3500-5000. Hp peaks right at 6000 like I want too.

Any hp/torque guesses of where I might be after the new cam, intake and retune? I never got another tune after I installed my heads.

if I did mine over, i'd go with a 222/222 112 for good sounding idle.. my 220/220 114 just doest have a choppy idle like I want. Im use the sound of the 228/230 in my car
