whats the pros and cons

 

Factory box is pretty good and can be modded to benefit some. I like to test things and change the looks from time to time.

I did some testing with a Cold Air Inductions kit vs factory on my 18 6.2. The IAT's with the Cold Air Inductions box ended up being a little better than factory (logged with hptuners). Not by much though.

It has a deep howl at certain throttle %'s also. Almost annoying haha.

 

I think without a tune the computer just corrects the afr back from what I've heard. My son in law said it just makes more noise pretty much on his 2015 5.3.

 

My trims are about the same... more noise for sure and the IAT sensor is a few degrees cooler / faster to react than the factory box.

Gains are not noticeable.

Not worth the $$$ in my opinion, but I like testing things.

 

Compare the Airflow numbers before and after. That difference will tell you if you actually gained anything.
