Billy, can you dig up that part number for me? Is it the exact same size as the Volant filter?

the reason i had a sack over it was because i was washing my engine at the car wash, and didn't want to get it wet. I just forgot to take it off when i tried to start the truck

I'll look around and see if I can find it...I know that I posted once a long time ago. I've noticed that Amsoil is now making them with an inverted cone on the inside, which I don't believe was available when I got mine. I measured the Volant filter and got the closest thing that Amsoil offered. It's almost a perfect fit, but the end of the filter just touches the air box lid. I've pulled the cover a few times since installing it to make sure that it hasn't been a problem and so far so good...the filter is just leaving a little mark in the rubber covering under the lid.

Bill, I can't seem to find my Amsoil invoice in my records, but I know that I posted that number around here somewhere, a year or so ago when I installed the filter. I'll keep trying...

Well I'll be damned but I can't seem to find that number...I did find out that Krambo got one of the one's with the inverted cone in the middle, might want to shoot him a PM...

here's an old thread: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...oil+air+filter

What about the powercore filters? Are they any good? They are saying they last a long time but I don't know how they flow?

"Powercore", is that made by Volant? I don't know of anybody running one of those, but I'd imagine that it's probably comparable to most of the options available out there...

It is available through Volant for their CAI. Donaldson make the "powercore" filter. They come on Duramax diesels stock but don't know if they are working with performance applications or not?

I've seen pictures of them, I think that someone may have posted about them at some point in time. Not sure what they're worth in terms of HP, maybe 1 or 2, but I doubt that they would have any negative effect. Try it out and let us know

*EDIT* Did a google image search and found a few pics, here's one...and you're right that they're made for Volant by Donaldson...
