cold air filters?

Red face cold air filters?

those with the exposed cold air filters.
To anybody that washes there engine have you ever forgot to take the sack off the filter when your done? lol I did and now i bet my filter is ruined it colapsed in on it self with just a few cranks of the engine!!!

Now would be a good time to get an oil-less filter if you didn't already have one. I got mine for my Volant from Amsoil, and I believe that AEM also makes dry filters.

Dry filter is on the right...

and you just clean like you would a k&n but minus putting oil on them?

i dont understand why would you have a sack over your filter???


and yes cleaning is the same minus the oil

I haven't cleaned mine yet, but I don't believe that you use water. I believe that there are cleaning instructions on Amsoil's website. I got one since it's easier and cheaper to service (just have to clean, no re-oiling), and there's no chance of over-oiling and messing up the MAF sensor readings. The supposedly flow just as well or better than the oiled filters.

Can't remember, it was a while ago. I just went looking for the receipt, but couldn't find it. I think that it was somewhere between $40-$60 IIRC...
