any one noticed a whistling sound after installing a cold air ?
It is a home built cold air using 3.5 manderal bent exhaust pipe,with a k/n cone filter .

All of them do it but some are louder than others! My buddys truck does it so loud when we pull up beside people, they ask if he has a turbo? lol

Its not a bad thing. I like the way it sounds when it makes a little whistlin noise.

 

yea mine is preety loud can hear it with the windows up but only does it at
part to half throttle.

 

Yes when I installed a K&N FIPK on my Vortec 350 it mkes a whistling sound when closin the throttle after having it pened up a bit, it is quite abit louder when the pass. side windo is open.

I beleiev we are hearing the air moving around the partially open throttle blade in the throttle body.
The stock air intake has many bends and volume increasors, this all helps to cancel out intake noise.

I kinda like mine though.

Yeah my AEM does it too. you can really hear it when you ease in to the trottle from a stop and when you floor it it sounds like its gonna suck the filter through!

 

Did it on other vehicles I did them on, just more air flowing.
